Vic-August Rokx-Nellemann is a passionate engineer and biomedical researcher with a deep commitment to advancing healthcare technologies, particularly in the field of spinal cord research. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Twente and is currently completing his master's in biomedical engineering at TU Delft, focusing on the spinal cord and its intricate systems.
Since joining Heights and Minds in 2021, Vic-August has served as the lead architect, applying his expertise in software and biomedical engineering to drive the development of innovative tools and systems aimed at improving brain health. He brings three years of experience in the software industry, excelling in communication by simplifying complex technical concepts with real-life analogies. His dedication to humanitarian efforts is evident, having contributed to projects that blend technology with real-world impact.
His bachelor’s thesis showcased his pioneering work in artificial intelligence by developing a Raspberry Pi-powered algorithm to aid visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings. This project exemplifies his passion for creating biomedical tools that enhance quality of life, especially in underserved communities.
Having grown up across diverse cultures—including Washington, D.C., Moscow, Jakarta, and The Hague—Vic-August's global perspective fuels his desire to contribute meaningfully to development efforts around the world. He plans to continue his career in the development sector, with a particular focus on biomedical tools and software systems that can revolutionize healthcare delivery.
